Family and Fashion
I love to look at fashionable women, don't you? I'm not an haute couture girl myself, always preferring comfort over super glam, but I love watching fashion and style.
So when my friend Sarah sent me the link to a blogger who honors her mother by showcasing her mom's collection of clothes, jewelry, and accessories she knew I'd eat it up. And I think you will, too!
In From The Reservoir Amy Sklar posts photos of herself wearing her mother's fabulous wardrobe, collected over the mid-mod-into-glam decades of the 1950s - 1970s. She intersperses photos of her mom wearing the clothes at special events, and it's a retro delight.
Her mom, now deceased, had seriously good taste and these vintage clothes will make you drool. Here are a few of my favorites:
If you like clothes, or love your mother, you're going to enjoy this tribute Amy created for her mom. But don't take my word for it. Take a peek and, as Sarah said when she first shared it with me, "Get ready to go down the Internet wormhole." From The Reservoir
Come to think of it, my own mother had a pretty swanky set of threads in the 1970s. Now that fashion from the era of Charlie's Angels is back I'd better see if she saved me anything. Mom?

P.P.S. The photo at the top of this post is my mother-in-law, Marilyn Hinman, styling it up on her way to lunch in Saint Croix, circa 1965. Don't you just love her look?
